Besides working in Psychiatry and Journalism, Dr. Tung also has a long and varied experience in teaching all subjects from Pre-K to college level; as well as in educational leadership and management, including co-founding and directing the Chinese Community School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She has also homeschooled her own seven children. Dr. Tung served five years as the principal of Arizona Cultural Academy, a private Islamic PreK-12 school located in south Phoenix. During her tenure there, she developed the curriculum, professional development, and organization of the school; encouraged quality, creativity, and community service; improved student enrollment four-fold; and led the school through accreditation with NCA (North Central Association) and membership as an IB (International Baccalaureate) World School. Her students garnered numerous awards, such as Future City, Young Woman of the Year (City of Phoenix, District 2), National Scholastic Silver Award for Art Portfolio, International Child Art Olympiad (Arizona winner), and so on. Today, the large majority of ACA graduates continue to receive multiple scholarships to ASU and other universities.

Ms. Chiou is well-known in the Valley as the founder and lead teacher at IQ Abacus Math and Language School in Tempe. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (National Taiwan University), an M.S. in Environmental Sciences (Rutgers University) and is a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Sciences (Rutgers University).
Ms. Chiou boasts a wide and varied experience as environmental scientist, culminating in her position as Program Manager for air quality control with the Maricopa Association of Governments for nine years. She is also an accomplished computer programming professional, co-founding a Chinese portal site (HunchNet.com), a commercial web site (IQabacus.com), and a non-profit organization (USMentalMath.org).
Despite her professional accomplishments, Ms. Chiou decided to dedicate her life to the advancement of education, in particular in the field of mathematics, by integrating mental abacus skills into mainstream math curricula. She is also coaching students from 6th to 12th grades for highly competitive and very prestigious math competition nation- and world-wide. Those competitions include the American Mathematics Contest (AMC 8, 10, and 12) and MATHCOUNTS. She is well-loved by her students who regularly gather Math awards in various competition at school, state and even international levels.
She is also an AP (Advanced Placement) Chinese Reader for the College Board.

Dr. Horng holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (Chung-Yuan University, Taiwan), a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering (Texas A&M University) and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering/Biomedical Science (Rutgers University and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey).
Dr. Horng has accumulated over 15 years' experience in the implementation of computer technology in a variety of business or academic fields including medical instrumentation, centralizing medical information, on-line retail e-commerce, business logistic implementation, school data distribution, and real-time signal processing. He is also specializing in neuro-ophthalmology that involves diagnosing of brain dysfunction in related to ocular-motor activities. His research field in science also includes neuro-pulmonary.
Together with Ms. Chiou, Dr. Horng co-founded and directed IQ Abacus Math and Language School where he is also a lead teacher and web & system engineer. Dr. Horng is known for his experience with the teaching of higher level math. His main philosophy of math learning is to ensure major concept of math topics are being delivered to each child before detail process is conducted. "Understanding how to derive a formula is more important than memorizing a formula" he said. "Picturing a whole tree before drawing branches, leaves, and fruits," he emphasized, "that way, children will not lose the direction in math."

Ms. Bouanani holds a A.A. in Electronics (EST, Ecole Superieure de Technologie, Oujda, Morocco), a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Ecole Marocaine des Sciences de l’Ingenieur, Casablanca, Morocco) and is currently a candidate for a M.A. in Education, majoring in Technology applied to education (Aspen University, Denver, Colorado). She worked for over ten years in the field of informational technology management with Siemens before turning to education and dedicating herself to the development of effective educational strategies and curricula. She has taught Computer Science classes at Arizona Cultural Academy at all levels, leading her students to pass the Microsoft Certification tests. She has also taught Economy, Art and social studies. She was also the PE Coach, and the IB CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) Coordinator, and Extended Essay (EE) Coordinator at ACA. Also she was the IT responsible at ACA. Ms. Bouanani also served as the School Council Secretary.

Ms. Kuo holds a Bachelor of Journalism in International Communication from Shi Hsin University, Taipei, Taiwan; and a M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as a TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Ms. Kuo has worked in Taiwan, Texas and Arizona as a Chinese teacher and Preschool Lead Teacher in various schools. She is a skilled artist and musician and experienced with the Montessori philosophy.
She is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
Ms. Kolodin holds a B.A. in French from UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) where she also took further graduate credits in Education. She further studied at the Institut Catholique de Paris (Paris, France) and the Universidad Internacional de Cuernava (Cuernava, Mexico). She has accumulated ten years' experience in tutoring (privately) and teaching (New Vistas Academy, Chandler, AZ) English, Reading, Writing, Math and Spanish. Ms. Kolodin is certified in Spalding 1 and IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing).
Ms. Kolodin's has also worked on international flights with Pan Am and as an extremely successful realtor with Realty Executive on Central.

Ms. Al Chami holds a National Diploma for Early Childhood Education (Diplome d'Etat d'Educateur de Jeunes Enfants, Institut Pedagogique, Paris, France, 1987); a Teaching Diploma in Sociology (equivalent to a BA) from the Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon, 1995; a M.A. in Sociology of Education (Lebanese University, 1996); and a Diploma of Superior Education (equivalent to a MA) of Education Science, Preschool branch (Lebanese University, 2003). Ms. Al Chami has attended numerous educational conferences and training workshops in Lebanon and France.
Her work experience include directing, and planning and implementing preschool programs at various schools; coordinating and training second language teachers (French) from PreK through high school; teaching education courses and teacher-training workshops at the Teachers Training College o Halba, and the Lebanese University (Faculty of Educational Methods Science). She also planned and led teacher-training workshops at the French Cultural Center of Tripoli.
She served as a member of the Exams and Official Programs Committee (Technical BT and TS - Preschool and Middle School education ), Ministry of Education, Lebanon.
In the US, she was Head of the Arabic Department at the Arizona Cultural Academy where she was instrumental in the design and implementation of an Arabic language restructuring program.
She also teaches French at the Mesa Community College, AZ. Her published textbooks include Déjà en Grand Jardin (4 volumes, 1994) and Je suis à l'école maternelle (1998).

Mr. Tung holds a B.S. in Microcellular Biology (University of Arizona) and is currently a candidate for a M.A. in Educational Leadership (Arizona State University). Mr. Tung has had a varied teaching experience in Taekwondo (ACA), swimming (City of Phoenix), science, piano, and art. He taught high school Biology and Chemistry at Shearim Torah Girls School in Phoenix, middle school science at Miles Exploratory Learning Center in Tucson, and elementary science and art to the South Mountain Homeschoolers (Phoenix). Mr. Tung excels at building a strong relationship with his students and motivating them to reach ever higher. His strength lies in creating innovative hands-on lesson plans that fire up his students.
Mr. Tung also earned a Blue Chip Leadership Certificate from U. of Arizona and has volunteered in various organizations such as the Muslim Student Association (U of A) and the Mayo Hospital (Scottsdale). He has 6 years’ experience as a lifeguard, swim instructor and swim team coach with City of Phoenix and has trained as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). Mr. Tung also won the Superior Award for piano performance, high school division (Phoenix Music Teachers Association) in 1999.

Ms. Chang holds a B.A. in Mass Communication (Tamkang University, Taiwan) and a M.B.A. with dual concentration in Marketing and Management (Clark University, Worcester, MA). Her work experience includes various positions from Assistant Manager, Public Relations Associate, to Marketing Research Assistant with various firms in Taiwan and the US before she turned to education. She has worked with IQ Abacus as a Chinese Language teacher and administrative assistant since 2005.
She is fluent in Mandarin and English.
Ms. Yingling studied Political Science and Religious Studies at Arizona State University. Her vast and varied work experience with both non-profits and for-profit organizations such as ASU, Maricopa Community Colleges, Heard Museum, BurellesLuce, The CARE Partnership, Montgomery Wards, include research, advertising, oversight, editing, coordination, secretarial, and lobbying skills. She won the 2003 ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) Award for Education Innovation.
